Ranges of micro organism and viruses in swimming pool water should be stored low to stop the unfold of ailments and pathogens. Micro organism, algae and bug larvae can enter the pool if water isn't correctly sanitized. Pumps, mechanical sand filters, and disinfectants are sometimes used to sanitise the water.

Chemical disinfectants, comparable to chlorine (normally as a hypochlorite salt, comparable to calcium hypochlorite) and bromine, are generally used to kill pathogens.
